Mercredi, c'est ravioli.
Dang, for once, Meredith writes a decent review. It might even be her best of 2007. Taking a rough guess, it should stay as her best review for 2007: two reviews in the same year focusing strictly on the food and the restaurant? Not that I wouldn't mind, but I would not count on it.

i guess the writing about the food was decent, but ced... could you figure out exactly where she was eating at any given time? she kept shifting about in a time-space continuum from alembic to magnolia, and really... who cares if these two restaurants have a relationship with each other? just review their food and shaddup.
and of course the "meredith moment"...
"[our] ordering was inspired by the obscure German silent movie, Nathan the Wise, we just saw at the Berlin and Beyond Film Festival."
what does she mean by "obscure"? that it's impenetrable, hard to understand? did meredith understand it? we are left, once again, to try to understand what the hell meredith is talking about.

Alembic has the best scotch list in town (or is a close second to Nihon), and she didn't appear to notice. Maybe she'll review Toronado on the basis of the sausages brought in from next door.
Winky: I actually overlooked the ordering inspired by the obscure German silent movie. Maybe they ordered in sign language?
JMC: I guess she could have made a mention of the scotch list, but it is hard to notice if you are not a scotch drinker.
