Mercredi, c'est ravioli.
First, the big news: we heard through the grapevine that Marc Sandalow will not return from his leave to the Chronicle, when he is done writing his book about the speaker of the Congress, "Do San Francisco Values Hang Like a Stone Around Nancy Pelosi's Neck".
Not to worry, that will leave us with Carla Marinucci's slanted coverage to keep busy. And we'll always have Meredith.
Which brings us to this. It's a restaurant review all right, but it had us laugh.
We couldn't resist ordering the steamed Manila clams, and when they arrive... we can't resist eating them, either. You mean, you ordered them to look at them, and your plan was foiled?
But I dip into [the salad] as I do the salumi plate. You dip the salumi plate into the salad? What for?
Gialina features what they call a roast of the day, which I sadly point out is actually a roast of the night. And today's special are really tonight's special, and the house coffee is actually the restaurant coffee. Meredith makes new discoveries every day. And I don't know how to search efficiently for this, but I'm under the impression she already wrote a similar 'day/night' line, as if that apparent contradiction was one she cherishes.
But you know, overall, that's a pretty decent review. In Glen Park! Yep, that's the 2nd time she goes there. Of course, Glen Park does boast convenient freeway access right off 280, which explains why the Sunset is so ignored, but anything that expand Meredith's horizon, we'll take gladly. You go girl, go dip yourself into further and further SF neighborhoods.

Comments:
Glen Park also has easy BART access, which means she'll be able to get to the East Bay that much quicker! =)
