Mercredi, c'est boring.

Dang, I never thought I'd say that, but I'm not sure I enjoy the new Meredith. Oh, the review is nicely written, lush with details, informative. But they're nothing to whine about. She even goes to the Mission (to a place reviewed at SFist by Rita. Hi, Rita! Go read the comments there, I'm not eating at Farina, I don't want to get arrested)

There's a conspiracy to keep me from procrastinating. Marc Sandalow got bought out at the Chron, and cannot insert Republican talking points no more. The Washington bureau has also seen the departure of Ed Epstein (who actually was doing a decent job). Carolyn Lochhead hardly writes there anymore, probably demoralized by the departure of her friends and the arrival of her foes: Democratic majorities in both houses.

Carla Marinucci also has a light schedule, and she hasn't attacked Democratic candidates lately. I have yet to read her piece on Fred Thompson throwing his hat in the primary, which I anticipate will be a drool-drenched love letter. [ok, went and read it. Short version: Thompson is not as sexy as Reagan, but compares nicely with Schwarzenegger].
