Mercredi, c'est ravioli.

Meredith is waving us good bye, using totally unrequited French:
the spécialités de la maison are pan-Asian savories served in smallish portions designed to be shared. She's hoping we'll go our seperate ways (she even brought Ruby her Filipino friend along to bid us farewell) by writing a decent review.

Now, I would have to bring the bar very low to consider this review decent. First, it's a place at lombard and van ness, another marina-ish location.

Then she insists on visiting the place before it opens. Maybe the web site says it does open at 5pm, but why insist on going there at this time! Is it a retirement home cafeteria? Is early-bird dinner a representative experience for the casual diner? No! Most diner will be there after 6:30pm. But Meredith's convenience trumps all, even informing her readers, as she needs to be home at 8pm, she won't miss her fav TV show because of work.

Out of 3 visits, one is dinner at 5:40pm, another is take-out at 5:20pm, and the third one is brunch. That's so unfair to the place. It's amazing that Meredith's lack of ethics, lack of honesty in reviewing still surprises me!

So she cut out the I-love-movies and how-cute-is-my-family crap. But what matters is respect for the readers. Today we get none.

Comments:
thank you, ced. for a moment there i thought you were going to give her a pass. that review truly SUCKED. BORING as anything she's ever written. and how old is meredith anyway? she meets the "pretty young bartender", the "boyish waiter", and the "young chef" ... ced, you may not be too far off the mark with your retirement home cafeteria comment. jeez, what a testy old biddy!
