And Obliviouser...
GOP could use Pelosi torture woes against Obama: that's the title of a piece by Carolyn Lochhead, and a fair summary of it.
Carolyn indeed describes the attempts of the Republicans to use torture and what Nancy Pelosi knew about it to tarnish Obama and his effort for health care reform (spearheaded by Pelosi).
And that's why it's pointless to even read the Chron: either the previous Republican administration used ignominious treatments and shared those tactics with Pelosi; or the previous Republican administration used ignominious treatments and failed to share those with Pelosi. Either way, the Republican administration soiled this country's honor by using torture (and, in an even sicker twist, it was to build up the case for the Iraq war...)
And that's a POLITICAL WINNER for the Republicans, if you read the Chron!
By the same reasoning, if Newt Gingrich wiped his butt with the Stars and Stripes and the Constitution in Pelosi's office, and maybe she's in, maybe she's not, then it would be a MAJOR SCORE for the GOP that could bring down the Obama administration!
Lochhead and Marinucci (see below): Dumb & Dumber.

Isn't it Ironic?
The Chron, ah, the Chron. We'll honestly miss them after they crash and burn. Today's lesson in obliviousness, at the link above, by Carla Marinucci:
Schwarzenegger's vaunted salesmanship tested
In the wildly diverse worlds of bodybuilding, movies and politics, Arnold Schwarzenegger has consistently marshaled one critical skill - an uncanny knack for salesmanship - to catapult him to the top of his class.
But [Arnold] may have met his match in Tuesday's special election, with its huge implications for the state's future.
The six budget-related initiatives he has relentlessly tried to sell as a way to keep the state running in the recession-racked economy appear to be on the brink of defeat, according to polls.
And here our fits of giggle stopped us from reading ahead.
Because, you know, who else sold those unpopular proposals to the public? Who else advocated for all six of them to pass? Who backed Arnold all the way (like they've always done)? Who else wants to balance the budget on the backs of the kids and of the mentally ill?
But of course, The San Francisco Chronicle!
Of all the major California newspapers, only the Chron went 6-for-6 in its Arnold love fest!
So the Chronicle, advocate Numero Uno for the Governor's policy, blames Arnold's salesmanship for the tepid support of the proposals!
Buck passing and scapegoating (and chutzpah, of course) are always resourceful skills to possess. But hey, Chron, you're not trying to shift blame, and pin the election results on Schwarzy! You are trying to sell papers that say Yes to a people that says No. It's no wonder that you are irrelevant!
